ScientificFly is the largest manufacturer/distributor of fishing flies in South Africa. Currently setting up a third tying factory to handle our growing demand for saltwater, warmwater and jungle flies with an ever-growing international market demanding the highest quality and service. ScientificFly is the proud owner of the SciFlies, Grip Hooks, Grip Components and Grip Tying Materials trademarks with Gnarly Headz being the latest addition to the collection of trademarks.

Who We Are
ScientificFly was founded by Arno Laubscher in 2001. His mission was, and still is, to develop high quality fishing products to be distributed to fishermen and women via retail stores not only in South Africa but across the globe. Arno’s fly fishing experience stretches back to the middle 1980’s where he started fly fishing in Northern Kwazulu Natal, South Africa at the age of 12.
